15 years after the start of construction, the North-South metro line in Amsterdam is finally open.
For improving the visual quality of transit environments and creating a sense of place, all the metro stations have integrated artworks of various artists. Additionally, Station Rokin exhibits 700.000 archaeological objects that were excavated during the construction. This metro line is more than the fastest way to get from A to B, It is an underground Art gallery!
Thank you to Municipality Amsterdam for inviting me for this event. It was a pleasure see all the art pieces and hear the stories behind them from Artists.
