Fabrique des Lumières/Gustav Klimt Art Show/Amsterdam

It all started in Paris in 2018 with the opening of Atelier des Lumières, created by Culturespaces. In just a few years, this digital immersive Art center attracted more than three million visitors, who were able to discover digitized works by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt and Salvador Dalí.
Culturespaces has now a similar digital art center in the former Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, not far from the historic city center. Fabrique des Lumières opened its doors on April 22, 2022.
The Westergasfabriek was built in 1885 by the English Imperial Continental Gas Association, converted into a beautiful cultural park in 1967. Due to its unique architecture with walls of 17 meters high and a floor area of 2800 m2, the building in Westerpark, Amsterdam is ideally suited for digital exhibitions.
State-of-the-art technology will be used to create a total experience exhibition dedicated to some of history’s most famous artists. In addition to exhibitions of classical and modern artists, there will also be a space where more contemporary creations will be shown.

It was a big surprise for me that their first exhibition was about my all-time favorite artist Gustav Klimt in Amsterdam! What a wonderful way to see Klimt’s works/paintings.It is about an hour show but you can stay and experience it longer from different angles and layers of the building if you like to. This digital masterpiece merged with classical music of that Era as well, to provide the Art lovers a total sensational experience. Highly recommended!
The exhibition includes Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s works too. I was not aware of him up until this exhibition. I must say quite impressive to see his color range in his paintings and how bold and imaginary his vision of creating art!

Gustav Klimt
Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects, many of which are on display in the Vienna Secession gallery. Klimt’s primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism–nowhere is this more apparent than in his numerous drawings in pencil.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser
Hundertwasser (15 December 1928 – 19 February 2000) was an Austrian visual artist and architect who also worked in the field of environmental protection.
Hundertwasser stood out as an opponent of “a straight line” and any standardization, expressing this concept in the field of building design. His best-known work is the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, which has become a notable place of interest in the Austrian capital, characterized by imaginative vitality and uniqueness.
